A love of lifelong learning is important to me and I believe that the early years lay down the foundation stones for a love of learning. I recognise all children are unique and learn in different ways. In a childminding (home) environment I am able to encourage children to explore, play and learn in a way that is natural, fun and  individual to each child.

I am a qualified primary school teacher with experience of working with children of all ages and ability. As a result I am fully aware of the importance of play in enabling children to develop their understanding of the world around them.  I have worked in different nursery settings, mainstream and special needs schools. I have also volunteered on playschemes that catered for children with special needs alongside their siblings.

As a childminder I am in a prime position to deliver the Early Years Foundation Stage(EYFS) effectively. During my recent Ofsted inspection I was graded 'Outstanding'which I believe reflects my commitment to ensuring all children in my care are valued and given many varied opportunities to continually develop. I place a  strong emphasis on language and social development enabling children to be school ready when the time comes.

I have six children of my own and two grandsons. My children range in age from 9 years to 29 years so I am familiar with juggling parenting and a career. This is why I offer a flexible childcare service when required.
